Attunity said July 23 that it has partnered with Amazon Web Services to enable big data availability for analytics, specifically to the AWS cloud.

The Burlington, Vt.-based company has released CloudBeam, software as a service (SaaS) designed to move large data sets in, out and across AWS cloud data centers. The service, currently available for testing by AWS users, is built to support business-critical applications, including disaster recovery and big data analytics workloads.

Enterprises worldwide are discovering new networking bottlenecks that impact the efficient transfer of data between the data center and the cloud or between cloud environments. Generally, the cause is simply too much data moving through pipes that are too small, but often there are other causes -- such as inefficient networking software in routers and switches.

These types of bottlenecks prevent enterprises from moving large quantities of data fast enough to complete service-level agreements. This is the problem the CloudBeam optimizer solves, Attunity said.
