ExaGrid, a company sometimes overlooked due to the larger storage players but which has its own powerful deduplication secret sauce, is offering a free eSeminar tomorrow, April 30, to explain a new way to add "dedupe" to your own iSCSI storage array.

The eSeminar, which is produced in coordination with our publisher, Ziff Davis Enterprise, takes place at 12:30 p.m. Eastern/9:30 a.m. Pacific, and lasts about 45 minutes. [Registration link is below.]

ExaGrid's iSCSI Backup Gateway with data deduplication, when deployed with Dell's hot new EqualLogic PS series storage arrays, provides a reliable disk-based backup package that costs less than most tape-based approaches, a company spokesperson told The Station.

The ExaGrid iSCSI Backup Gateway with data deduplication is the only such iSCSI-able gateway in the market, the spokesperson claimed.

If you attend this eSeminar, you will learn how this joint package from Dell EqualLogic and ExaGrid eliminates failed backups and restores; greatly reduces a backup window; works with existing backup applications; is perfect for environments with backups of 1TB to 60TB; delivers disk-based backup with compression/data de-duplication at the cost of tape; provides an optional WAN-efficient offsite system for tape replacement and disaster recovery.

ExaGrid's byte-level data deduplication can reduce the amount of disk space required to store all a organization's backup data by 10-, 20-, or even 50-to-1. That's not an outlandish statement, by the way.

You can register for the event here.

If you can't make it at that time, you can still register here and watch the recording on demand, after it takes place.
