Broadcom this week announced new Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controllers that simultaneously perform storage networking, high-performance clustering, accelerated data networking and remote system management.
The company said its NetXtreme II Gigabit Ethernet Controllers offer iSCSI functionality that creates low-cost networked storage capabilities over an existing GbE infrastructure (network cabling, switches, and routers).
The controller also includes a TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) and remote direct memory access (RDMA) technology.
