AT&T has added one more application to the more than 20,000 offerings in the Apple App Store with its new, free application called myWireless Mobile.
The mobile application for iPhones-a supplement to AT&T’s myWireless service on its Website-offers customers a quick way to mange accounts. The application offers account views of data usage and text messages, bill pay capabilities and payment options, new feature options and the ability to add and remove features.
Parents managing multiple accounts on family plans can view overall family usage or information on each individual account, including texts received and sent. Full bills can also be viewed as PDFs.
“Our new AT&T myWireless Mobile app gives iPhone customers more freedom to manage, customize and update their wireless voice and data needs whenever and wherever,” said David Huntley, a senior vice president with AT&T’s Mobility and Consumer Markets, in a statement.
AT&T customers must already have an existing myWireless account established, in order to access their accounts on the downloaded mobile app. On the iPhone, their user names and passwords stay the same.
AT&T, the current sole provider of the iPhone in the United States, has been beefing up its network in anticipation of Apple’s rollout of new iPhones-and with them, no doubt, additional app downloads.
The Apple App Store recently reached 1 billion downloads. Joining the fast and furious app market, BlackBerry opened its BlackBerry App World store on April 1, and on May 5 Google introduced a tool that connects Google Apps to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
