Hewlett-Packard this week announced that it is joining a growing group of data storage providers by adding its own brand of deduplication software to its new virtual libraries. Here’s the story.
After it posted in advance last Friday, The Station received a call from Daniel Bingham, a PR rep from Sepaton.
“Hey, I read your story … but did you know that HP is OEM-ing the dedupe software from Sepaton?” Bingham said. “It’s not all theirs.”
Actually, we didn’t know. To make sure everybody knows what’s what, and who gets credit where credit is due, little Sepaton, of Marlboro, Mass., will announce today (June 25) that it has renewed its OEM pact with big HP.
With the new agreement, Sepaton’s DeltaStor data deduplication software will be integrated into HP StorageWorks 6000, 9000 and 12000 Virtual Library Systems.
So, congrats, Sepaton. You must be doing something very well for a company like HP to feature your good work.
