If you don’t want to have to deal with daily enterprise backup anymore, there’s a new alternative now available: Symantec’s getting into the managed storage service act.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based company on April 30 launched its new Managed Backup Services, which provides management of NetBackup backup and recovery operations through a combination of local management–on-site or off-site.

A quick look at its key features:

–Based on ITIL processes, the services include 24/7 remote monitoring, incident management, restore requests, planning and optimization assistance, and reporting capabilities.

–The services are handled by a local service delivery manager, who supervises day-to-day operations and provides customers with comprehensive monthly account reviews.

–Out-tasking backup and recovery operations ensures that critical business data is under strict service control and customers maintain audit and regulatory compliance. It also ensures transparent and predictable costs.

Symantec’s Managed Backup Services are available now. Pricing is based on a monthly fee per client server under management. More information: go here.
