SQL Server expert Greg Robidoux, chairman of the Professional Association for SQL Server DBA Special Interest Group (PASS DBA SIG), says that the next release of Microsofts SQL Server 2005 database, codenamed Yukon, will be worth the wait. Hes particularly excited by new development and troubleshooting tools as well as new database-mirroring capabilities. While DBAs are waiting for Yukon—which has faced multiple delays, including a delay associated with Bill Gates security initiative of last year—they can be getting ready for the new environment. Robidoux offers tips on what DBAs can do to prepare.
