Duo Looks To Ease Design Collaboration

Business process application provider NexPrise Inc. on Thursday announced a strategic alliance with Science Applications International Corp.

Under the terms of the agreement, NexPrise and Science Applications, known as SAIC, will jointly deliver business applications, systems engineering and integration services, primarily within the high-tech, aerospace and design industries.

The applications will focus on engineering design collaboration and business process automation the likes of engineering change notice, program management, proposal management, contract data requirements and non-conforming materials, officials from the two companies said. SAIC, of San Diego, will also provide consulting services to support its customers implementations of NexPrise applications.

Joseph Parker, vice president and manager of the Technology Applications Division in SAICs Advanced Systems Group, said many of his companys clients, both domestic and international, are looking for ways to leverage and extend their enterprise applications.

“NexPrise can enhance the service we provide our clients, by providing them applications that are effective and easy to implement,” said Parker, in a press release.

NexPrise, which is based just north of San Diego in Carlsbad, Calif., can enhance the service SAIC offers by providing applications that are effective and easy to implement, said Parker.

NexPrise applications are deployed on the companys namesake nProcess Platform, with includes an authoring studio, flexible data model, graphical workflow, extended integration and object definition and mapping functionalities. Users have the option of creating their own applications using nProcess, or deploying a NexPrise application.

The companys library of apps includes engineering management and quote management; new product development; quality management; ISO certification management; proposal and contract management; Integration manager; process safety management and change management. A CITIS/CDRL (Contractor Integrated Technical Information Services/ Contract Data Requirements List) application manages proposals and contracts to customers, while an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations compliance app manages contract data deliverables for faster submission and payment.

SAIC, for its part, provides a variety of products and services, from technology for aviation and unmanned vehicles to computer hardware to simulation and automatic code generation software.
