Microsoft Corp. today made available a second service pack for its Exchange 2000 messaging server that mainly provides enhancements to Outlook Web Access.

Exchange 2000 SP2 adds multiple- day displays, including views of discontinuous days, to the Outlook Web Access calendar. It also adds meeting reminder pop-up windows, mailbox search capabilities and the ability to view and edit distribution lists stored in the Contacts folder.

New view and browsing enhancements in Outlook Web Access allow users to skip to the next or previous item for reading mail and perform type-down searches.

Another new feature that SP2 adds to Exchange 2000 is support for migration of Exchange 2000 mailboxes between Exchange organizations, such as during corporate mergers or system architecture changes. It also adds improved interaction between Exchange Server and Active Directory, a new user interface for message tracking, and support for encrypted audio and video conferences via the Multipoint Control Unit.

Exchange 2000 Service Pack 2 is available for free download at http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/downloads/2000/sp2/default.asp.
