Amazon, IBM Settle E-Commerce Patent Dispute

Amazon.com and IBM said May 8 that they had settled a long-running dispute over electronic commerce applications, resulting in Amazon paying an undisclosed sum of money to IBM.

The patent suit had originally been filed in October.

All of the outstanding litigation between the companies has been settled, the two firms said.

IBM has sued Amazon over four patents, covering the presentation of applications in an interactive network, presenting interactive ads, adjusting hypertext links in “weighted goals and activities,” and ordering items electronically.
