Novell has committed to developing a Windows version of the open-source Evolution e-mail client. No time frame has been announced for the release of such a product, nor has Novell pledged technical support for Evolution on Windows.

Evolution, a widely used open-source e-mail client, currently runs only on Linux desktops. Novell, which has extensive Linux e-mail server offerings, hopes that Evolution will have the same success as a cross-platform product that the Mozilla Firefox browsers Thunderbird e-mail client has had.
