SAP AG and Accenture Ltd announced this week an alliance to develop software for the banking, insurance and financial services industry.
The two companies have a long-standing partner relationship.
A team of about 800 people in the United States, Germany and Spain will work to enhance the vertically aligned software from SAP and Accentures joint portfolio of banking and insurance software, officials said.
At the same time SAP, of Waldorf, Germany, and Accenture, of Hamilton, Bermuda, will act as global agents for one another in terms of selling the others products and services.
The software and services will be tailored on a country and customer specific basis.
The two companies will also contribute to joint teams for implementation of SAPs standard software and Accentures custom solutions for banking and insurance.
Accenture will offer business process outsourcing based on its and SAPs offerings. SAP will utilize Accenture to offer training services for its banking and insurance software in its training facilities, officials said.
