Supply chain management software developer Manugistics Group Inc. announced today an expanded alliance with Sun Microsystems Inc. that should help users gain better access to both supply and demand chain applications and data across their enterprise.
As part of the extended relationship, Manugistics, of Rockville, Md., is now a certified reseller of the Sun Java System Application Server, and will point to it as the favored platform for collaborative demand planning.
Manugistics will also resell Suns Java System Identity Server and Directory Server as the go-to platforms for profile management and secure authentication, respectively.
The expanded relationship is geared toward customers across industries, from manufacturing and retail to government and transportation and helps get rid of onsite integration costs by providing a tighter integration between key Manugistics and Sun Java System applications, officials said.
Sun is based in Santa Clara, Calif.
