The Linux Professional Institute will offer free LPI certification test exams–a $100 savings–at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo on Oct. 30 and 31 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Its a good cert to get, if you go by CRN magazine. In the recently released 2002 CRN Certification study, LPIs certificate was ranked No. 1 on the list of credentials expected to rise the “fastest in importance” in the coming year.

Testing for the Level One and Level Two exams, exams 101 and 201, will be held in the Good Will room in Hall 4, Level 1, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both days. Candidates should pre-register by clicking here to receive an LPI registration number before arriving at the test site.

LPI, an international non-profit organization established in 1999, has awarded over 16,000 Level One and Level Two certification exams globally since the program began in January 2000.
