The Magic Solutions division of Network Associates Inc. will announce Wednesday two partnerships that will add new asset management capabilities to its help desk software suite and give it access to a wider company base.

The company will partner with MainControl, adding that companys repository database to the Magic 7.5 service management platform. This will allow organizations to track and report on the purchase and utilization of all IT and non-IT assets like software licenses, warranties, computers and hard drives, Magic officials said.

It will integrate with Magics own configuration and change management applications and be targeted at medium and large enterprises, officials said.

The company also will announce Wednesday that service management consulting firm STI Knowledge Inc. will license Magic Service Desk and resell it to its Fortune 1000 customers under the STI Knowledge Center brand.

The company chose Magic Service Desk for the help desk portion of the suite, which also includes call center software, as it moves from services to solution selling.
