The Big Apple led the nation in overall open tech positions at 7,696, but posted an 8 percent decline in total listings.


Washington, D.C./Baltimore

The nation’s capital and neighboring city claimed the No. 2 position, with a 3 percent uptick in jobs, standing at 7,641 positions.

Silicon Valley

Perennial tech jobs magnet Silicon Valley also boasted a 3 percent increase in available jobs to land in third place, with 5,176 positions.


Chicago

The Windy City landed in fourth place, with Dice tallying up 3,651 open tech jobs, an 8 percent rise, which was the highest in the top 10.

The City of Angels continues to draw tech employment opportunities, with the number of available positions jumping 5 percent, to 3,185, according to the Dice report.

Beantown landed in sixth place with 3,046 positions, and the number of open tech jobs rose 1 percent.

Dallas was the only Texan metropolis to make the cut. The number of open tech jobs in Dallas rose 6 percent, to 2,785 open positions.

The home of CNN and Coca-Cola posted a 6 percent decline in available tech jobs, but still landed in eighth place, with 2,763 available positions.

Up in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle boasted a 3 percent rise in available tech jobs and landed just inside the top 10 with 2,630 positions posted.


Philadelphia

The City of Brotherly Love had 2,190 tech-based jobs available in Dice’s latest report, up 1 percent.
