E-marketing platform developer Responsys Inc. announced Friday the acquisition of Web site analysis ASP, NetAcumen Inc.

Terms of the deal between the two privately held hosted services companies were not disclosed.

Responsys officials, in Palo Alto, Calif., said the acquisition will enable the company to integrate customer intelligence gleaned from both Web site visits and e-mail marketing campaigns. Marketing campaigns using Responsys can be launched from Web site analysis data from NetAcumen. And NetAcumens hosted analytics service can in turn analyze the results of those marketing campaigns.

“The integration of NetAcumens trailblazing technology with the Responsys Platform creates, at a stroke, the industrys only unified, hosted online customer profile management and interaction system,” said George Wiedemann, CEO of Responsys, in a statement.

NetAcumen CEO David Silver will join Responsys as vice president of business development.

NetAcumen was spun off from business intelligence software developer Sagent Technology Inc., in 1999. Silver and NetAcumen vice president of operations Steve White, credited with being the co-founders of the San Francisco-based company, were the vice president and technical director, respectively, of channel development at Sagent, when NetAcumen was spun off. Sagent retained an 8 percent share in NetAcumen, Silver said.
