Business travelers will soon have a new way to access their itineraries while on the road.
Sybase subsidiary iAnywhere Solutions will launch a new travel application as part of its free AvantGo mobile content service.
AvantGo delivers Web content specially formatted for the small screens on mobile devices such as smart phones and PDAs. The new travel application allows users to access in one place their itineraries, as well as weather information, maps and restaurant guides for 98 cities.
To provide content, iAnywhere has teamed up with airlines such as Northwest and online travel portals such as Expedia Corporate Travel, Sabre Virtually There and Travelocity Business. Maps and directions are provided by Microsofts MapPoint division.
iAnywhere plans to launch the full version and new partnerships next month.
