Microsoft Corp. on Wednesday announced a specialized arm of its Mobile Solutions Partner Program called the Mobility Partner Advisory Council.

MPAC is designed to give Microsoft mobile platform developers more personalized attention than they receive in the MSPP. The MSPP, which includes more than 5,000 member companies, gives free information and basic resources for developing hardware and software for Pocket PC 2002, Smartphone 2002 (previously known as Stinger) and Microsofts Mobile Information Server back-end access platform.

MPAC, which costs $15,000 for six months of service, has been offered to 110 companies, according to Microsoft officials in Redmond, Wash. It includes dedicated consulting services and support for both technical development and sales and marketing.
