Microsoft is expected to detail next week some of the interim enhancements it is adding to its customer-relationship-management product at its Convergence customer conference in Orlando.

The Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) division is working on adding mobile enhancements to its CRM platform, according to sources close to the company. The mobile technologies, customized to work on Windows-based PDAs, are code-named “Danube,” sources said.

Danube Phase 1 consists of handheld sales force automation enhancements; Danube Phase 2 will introduce handheld field-service and VAT tax capabilities to Microsofts CRM application, according to Microsofts CRM roadmap, sources said.
