Nokia, the worlds largest mobile phone maker, announced Sept. 21 that it would begin offering Microsofts Live Search for its Mobile Search platform.

Nokia, based in Finland, said the Live Search feature will be available for its N-Series multimedia phones as well as for phones that use its S-60 software.

“Microsoft will provide advanced search results for Web search, as well as quick and easy access to information such as stock quotes, movie times and common facts via Encarta Instant Answers,” the company said in a statement.

Microsofts Windows Live Search, currently in available as a beta, allows Web searches.

The company also has another Live Search product that is designed for enterprise users.

The new Windows Live Search is designed to allow users to search across their PCs for data, and analysts have said they see it as a way for the company to gain market share from Google.
