One of the Biggest Compromises that handheld computers make in exchange for their small size is ease of inputting data, which is why an external keyboard is such a handy add-on.
Palms $69.95 Wireless Keyboard, which began shipping this month, is an affordable and comfortable-to-use alternative to the stylus for taking notes or writing e-mail messages on Palm handheld devices.
The “wireless” in the Wireless Keyboard is infrared. The Zire 21 and Tungsten E do not share the same synchronization connector as the other units that this keyboard supports (the Tungsten C, E, T2, T3 and Zire 71), but all support IR.
The keyboard has an adjustable arm with an IR window through which Palm Tungsten C, E, T2 , T3, and Zire 71 and 21 devices receive keystrokes. (See eWEEK Labs reviews of the Tungsten T3, E.)
I tested the Wireless Keyboard with the Tungsten T3, and the keyboard could accommodate the T3 in both portrait and landscape modes.
