Today’s topics include the availability of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 in the U.S., and Google adding an application “side access panel” to G Suite.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note 9 phablet, unveiled in New York on Aug. 9, is now available for purchase through major U.S. carriers and national retailers.

The Note 9 features a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen stylus and supersedes the Note 8 with a 4,000mAh battery that provides all-day use without a recharge, a faster processor for improved performance and a microSD card slot that will handle storage cards of to 512GB. When combined with the built-in storage of the 512GB model, users will have 1TB of storage in their handsets, which is a first for mass market smartphone models.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless and Xfinity began selling the 128GB Note 9 on Aug. 24 in stores and online for $1,000. The 512GB Note 9, which is priced at $1,250, is now available at select retail locations and online at AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular and Samsung.com.

Google is giving all G Suite users full access to the Docs Activity Dashboard that previously was not fully available to G Suite Basic users. This includes an all-new quick-access side panel, which lets users access other G Suite applications while they are editing a Google Doc or using Google Calendar.

The panel will include three services: Google Calendar, where users can view, create or edit invites; Google Keep, where users can take notes, create lists and see their other content; and Google Tasks, where users can manage their tasks and to-do lists.

Users will be able to access the services from their Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drawings applications.
