Siebel Systems Inc. announced today Siebel 7 Mobile, an updated suite of its customer relationship management software applications for mobile devices.

Siebel 7 Mobile includes support for wireless messaging via short message service, telocator alphanumeric protocol, and simple mail transfer protocol (email) to send alerts and receive responses.

It also supports wireless access to customer and account information in sales and service applications. Products in the suite include: Siebel Wireless Messaging; Siebel Wireless, for access via wireless phones and other devices that use Wireless Application Protocol; Siebel Handheld, for access via Palm- and Pocket PC-based handhelds; and Siebel Remote for offline access via laptop and notebook computers, including synchronization support when re-connected.

Siebel 7 Mobile includes applications for field sales, field service, channel partner management and customer service. In addition there are vertical applications for the consumer goods, life sciences, communications, energy, financial services, automotive, high technology industries and the public sector.

Siebel, of San Mateo, Calif., has enlisted several partners to help deploy Siebel 7 Mobile including Nokia Corp., IBM, Compaq Computer Corp., Palm Inc., Research in Motion (RIM) Ltd., Kyocera Wireless Corp., AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS and Bell Mobility.
