Startup Netuitive Inc. is looking to provide the business service management glue for enterprises struggling to determine the impact of IT infrastructure problems on business processes.
The companys new Netuitive Service Analyzer is intended to bridge the gap between user-experience monitoring and systems/applications monitoring to correlate whats happening on the infrastructure side and show IT operators in a single view how users are affected by problems.

“This is the first business service management software thats self-learning and self-adaptive,” said Nicola Sanna, president and CEO of the Reston, Va., company.
Just as the companys flagship Netuitive SI tool issues “trusted alarms” to reduce the number of false-positive alerts from monitoring tools such as BMC Software Inc.s Patrol, Netuitive Service Analyzer creates “trusted alarms on the health of your service,” said Sanna.
Unlike other business service management, or BSM, tools that rely on manually configured event rules and correlation scripts, or on the labor-intensive development of a configuration database, Netuitive Service Analyzer leverages a real-time analysis engine to automatically learn and monitor service behavior patterns.
The engine can take any raw data stream, create a behavior profile around that data stream and observe changing behavior patterns. For example, it can observe the spike in CPU usage that typically occurs in organizations on Monday mornings.
“Then we take each profile and cross-correlate and analyze it to produce a trusted alarm,” Sanna said.
Netuitive Service Analyzer, due in September, starts at $75,000.
