PORTAL SERVERS
Offerings on iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions Portal Server are going to be rolling out for most of the year.
iPlanet, an alliance between Sun Microsystems Inc. and America Online Inc., unveiled last month the addition of Mobile Access Pack, a wireless product that enables service providers to offer portal services through any Internet-based device. Enterprises also will be able to channel corporate services and applications to mobile employees.
Other packs are Secure Remote Access Pack, which enables business partners to remotely access their personalized corporate portals, intranets and extranets via iPlanets Extranet/ VPN on Demand technology, and Personalized Knowledge Pack, with collaborative knowledge management that includes information search, document collaboration and personalized profiles. Portal Server now comes in two editions, Standard and Enterprise.
The Standard Edition and Secure Remote Access and Knowledge packs are available now. Wireless Access Pack will be available this summer and Enterprise Edition in the fall. Pricing for Portal Server starts at $25,000.
