Network Associates is making some changes at the top.

The e-business security solutions vendor on Monday named former McAfee division president Gene Hodges as the companys new president, and announced that chief financial officer Steve Richards will take on the additional duties of chief operating officer as well.

In addition, Art Matin, formerly senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing CrossWorlds Software, will replace Hodges as president of the McAfee division.

“Weve accomplished a lot over the last 11 months to rebuild Network Associates and we now have the management team in place to focus our resources and grow this business,” said George Samenuk, chairman and chief executive officer of Network Associates in a prepared statement. Samenuk came on board with Network Associates in January.

Network Associates credits Hodges, who has been with the company since 1995, with being the driving force behind a number of key company initiatives, including improving product quality, developing technology in key growth areas and boosting McAfees international business.

In early morning trading, Network Associates was down .44, or 1.92 percent.
