The Pivot Portal technology in InfoImage Decision Portal 4, which launched last week, presents information to each user differently, depending on his or her particular role or based on a predefined activity or process in which the user is involved. The technology powers a concept-based search engine that allows users to click on a knowledge map to explore a topic.
Version 4 provides the capability to create customized desktops for specific projects. These Pivot Workspaces, as they are called, integrate data from a variety of sources and can be shared with teams inside and outside an organization, according to officials at InfoImage, in Phoenix.
