/zimages/3/139615.jpgMicrosoft posted on June 29 for download the Beta 3 version of its stand-alone Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0 browser.

Beta 3 is designed to run on Windows XP Service Pack (SP) 2, XP Professional x64, Windows Server 2003 SP 1, Windows Server 2003 x64 and Windows Server 2003 ia64 systems.

The new beta is downloadable from Microsofts IE Web site. The build, which is the successor to the Beta 2 build delivered in April, is available to any and all comers.

The latest IE beta brings the standalone version of IE 7.0 in line with the IE 7.0 code that is integrated into the latest test build of Windows Vista. Microsoft made that new Vista build, No. 5456, available to selected technical beta testers for download on June 23.

Microsoft made some fairly minor changes to IE Beta 3, based on feedback from testers of previous IE beta builds, company officials said.
