PDA keyboards are a dime a dozen, but iBiz Technologys Xela stands out from the crowd by serving as a combination keyboard and case for your Palm PDA.

Released last month and priced at $70, the Xela is a hard-case shell that folds out into a QWERTY keyboard. The front of the case folds down to reveal the device. The Xela is designed to enable users to hot-sync their handhelds while theyre still in the case.

Xela, although bulky, is a good choice for users more comfortable inputting information using a keyboard.

In tests, I easily connected the keyboard device to my Zire 71 and could peck out full sentences. Unfortunately, the diminutive size of the keys means users with larger fingers could find themselves typing with two fingers.

The Xela supports Palms m500, m505, i705, Zire 71 and the Tungsten series through Palms Universal Connector. iBiz expects to release versions for the iPaq and Dell Pocket PC soon.
