Two leaders in the Windows and Linux tools space are going to jointly market their technology to enterprise developers.

Borland Software Corp. and IBM on Monday announced a global distribution and marketing agreement to bundle some of their key Windows and Linux development technologies to support enterprise developers.

Under the agreement, IBM and Borland will link IBMs DB2 database software with Borlands rapid application development technology to help enterprise developers to create GUI, database, Web and Web Services applications for Windows and Linux, the companies said.

According to the deal, IBM later this summer bundle Borland Delphi Studio Architect, Borland C++Builder Enterprise and Borland Kylix Enterprise 30-day trial versions with the most current versions of IBM DB2 Universal Developers Edition and DB2 Universal Personal Edition.

Meanwhile, Borland, of Scotts Valley, Calif., will bundle IBMs DB2 Universal Developers Edition with the most current versions of Borland Delphi Studio Architect and Enterprise, Borland C++Builder Enterprise, and Borland Kylix Enterprise, the companies said.

Also as part of the agreement, IBM, of Armonk, N.Y., and Borland will create a portal to help developers move to the two companies cross-platform solutions. The portal will be hosted on the IBM Web site and marketed by IBM and Borland.
