Officials at Intel last week posted a notice on eBay offering $10,000 for a mint copy of the magazine in which company co-founder Gordon Moore laid out his theory on whether the exponential increases in the number of transistors per integrated circuit would continue unabated.

In a paper printed in the April 19, 1965, issue of Electronics, Moore predicted that the exponential growth would continue and that the number of transistors would double every two years. His prediction, which has come to be known as Moores Law, has held true, and Intels current Itanium 2 processor has 410 million transistors.

Intel made its offer for the magazine on the Want It Now section of eBay.
