With its color laser desktop printers, Ricoh is aiming to give small and midsize businesses more networking options.
The new models—which include the Aficio CL1000N, CL2000N and CL3000e—offer 802.11b and Bluetooth wireless interfaces as optional features, company officials said. USB 2.0, parallel and 10/100BaseTX Ethernet connectivity comes standard.
The $899 Aficio CL1000N prints 31 pages per minute in monochrome and 8 ppm in color and is designed for users who print mostly in black-and-white and only occasionally in color.
The Aficio CL2000N, for $1,299, prints 16.9 ppm in monochrome and color at 600 by 600 dots per inch or 1,200 by 600 dpi and 8 ppm at 1,200 by 1,200 dpi. A nonnetworked version is available for $1,099.
The fastest model in the line, the Aficio CL3000e, prints 22 ppm in monochrome and 18 ppm in color at 600 by 600 dpi or 1,200 by 600 dpi and 8 ppm at 1,200 by 1,200 dpi. The CL3000e, priced at $1,499, is powered by a 400MHz processor, has 128MB of memory (expandable to 384MB) and replaces Ricohs Aficio 3000.
