Toshiba Prot- Z830
Toshiba’s first ultrabook will be available in November. The 13.3-inch system comes in at less than 2.5 pounds, is powered by an Intel Core i5 chip and runs Windows 7.
Ultrathin
Toshiba’s Prot??«g??« X830 is 0.63 inches thick, thinner than the 0.8-inch limit Intel has set for ultrabooks. Despite the thinness, the device offers two USB 3.0 ports on the side and two USB 2.0 ports in the back.
Acer Aspire 3951
Acer’s 13.3-inch ultrabook, due out in October, weighs 3.1 pounds. The Aspire 3951 also is powered by Intel’s “Sandy Bridge” chip and runs Windows 7.
Asus UX31
Asus has been one of the strongest OEM proponents of the ultrabook concept, with Chairman Jonney Shih joining Intel executives on stage at Computex and showing off a UX21 ultrabook. The UX31 is larger, at 2.9 pounds, but with the same 0.67-inch thickness.
Pegatron
Pegatron was one of several ODMs who had ultrabooks on display that were powered by Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge chips, which are due out in 2012.
Invetec
Invetec’s ultrabook also uses Ivy Bridge processors. Like the devices from other ODMs, this ultrabook will be available to OEMs who want to rebrand it.
Shuriken
This Ivy Bridge-based ultrabook is using a new LG display, called Shuriken, which is designed to use less bezel and is thinner than traditional notebook displays.
Quanta
ODM Quanta also has put together an ultrabook running on Ivy Bridge technology.
