Calling people on your cell phone can often be a hit or miss proposition. If someone isn’t in your address book or contacts and you don’t have their number, finding it while out on the street can be a chore.
But what if you could access your social networks, e-mails and even enterprise systems like Salesforce.com directly from your cell phone and have the person’s number pulled directly from these sources (along with all the other information that comes from them). That might make calling from smartphones much easier. And when applied to businesses, this can be even more effective for finding information and avoiding 411 services.
CallSpark is a mobile application that makes it possible to enter a name and have multiple sources scanned for the person’s number, from social networks to e-mail to enterprise systems such as Salesforce.com. CallSpark also displays the information from these systems while the call is in session, so a user can, for example, see a contact’s Salesforce info during the call. At DEMOfall 2009, I had the chance to speak to Adrian Vanzyl, COO and co-founder of CallSpark, about this new mobile service. Watch the video for our interview.
