Continuing its efforts to add “features not products,” Google over the weekend linked Blog Search to Google News. The link provides quick access to Blog Search, but the products still work separately on separate subdomains.

“Features not products” is an internal effort led by Google co-founder Sergey Brin to better organize the company’s vast array of independent products and services.

Last week, Brin reiterated the ideas behind the effort on the company’s Q3 analyst call. Brin said that Google Apps for Your Domain was an example of Google’s new focus on connecting products. Google is also working on improving the main search results page to show results across products.

The addition of the Blog Search link follows the launch of Google News Archive Search in September.
