Citrix Systems Inc. launched four product updates last week—two for its flagship MetaFrame series and one each for its Web portal and extranet products.

The updates from the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., company include Feature Release 1 for MetaFrame XP, which adds SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption, content publishing, support for Computer Associates International Inc.s Unicenter TNG automatic client reconnect and Citrix Web Console. The other MetaFrame update is for the Unix 1.1 version, with NFuse portal support, SSL encryption, new compression and caching options, and higher resolution and color choices.

On the NFuse front, Version 1.6 is available now, with a new user interface and fault-tolerance features that automatically back up servers when system failures occur.

Improvements to Citrixs Extranet 2.5 include more client choices for the virtual private networking feature.

The upgrades are available free to Citrixs Subscription Advantage members or can be bought from resellers starting at $30 per user license.
