OpenBSD boxes typically arent configured to run with graphical interfaces. However, I find that a GUI makes certain tasks much easier. For instance, browsing through the software packages installed on a system and those packages available for installation goes a lot more quickly when you can scroll and click through the job.

OpenBSD benefits from a nice software installation system, called ports, which handles package dependencies and includes provisions both for installing ready-to-go software binaries and for compiling software from source.

During my tests of OpenBSD 3.6, I came across a handy app called PortBrowser, which provides ports with a GTK-based graphical front end that makes it easy to install, uninstall and seek out information about OpenBSD packages.
