BMC Software Inc.s SmartDBA Performance and Recovery management tools now support SAP AGs mySAP Business Suite, the company announced on Tuesday at the Sapphire 2003 conference, in Orlando, Fla.
SmartDBA Performance and Recovery tools offer centralized, automated backup and recovery for distributed and mainframe database environments.
Company officials said that Houston-based BMC has contracted with an SAP consulting service, Integration Assessment, to assure customers that its tools are based on the latest SAP integration standards and that they work with SAP solutions.
Integration Assessment assessed Smart Recover, a backup and recovery tool for SAP R/3 application data, on a DB2 for OS/390 database server; SQL-BackTrack for Oracle, software that performs backup and recovery in distributed environments; and Space Expert for Oracle, a reorganization tool that identifies the most active objects in a database, along with those most in need of reorganization.
