NEC Corporation of America announced Nov. 28 that it has formed a partnership with Archivas to help distribute Archivas Cluster software with its line of modular storage arrays.

“Were excited to partner with Archivas, the leader in digital archiving solutions,” said Matthew Wolken, vice president of the Fault Tolerant Server and Data Storage of NEC, in a company release.

NEC, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based provider of network, IT, telephony and visual display solutions, will combine Archivas Cluster software, NEC arrays and NEC servers to offer enterprises a way to store, protect and access rich content.

“The combination of NECs storage arrays and Archivas Arc Cluster Software provides customers a scalable, modular, enterprise-class archive solution,” said Gary Voight, CEO of Archivas, in the same release. Archivas is a provider of digital archiving solutions and is based in Waltham, Mass.

ArC software offers enterprise users the ability to store, safeguard and retrieve fixed content from multiple originating applications in a scalable repository for applications such as e-mail, medical records, financial documents and scientific research data.
