The more, the better For developers, the more data they can bring into the mix the better. iWay Software next month will roll out the iWay Enterprise Connector for J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) Connector Architecture, or JCA. Officials with the New York company—an Information Builders Inc. company—said the connector will enable Java developers to pull in packaged data from more than 160 enterprise information assets on 40 platforms when building their applications.

Extra code bypassed The data can come from packaged applications, custom applications, mainframe transactions and nonstandard sources without having to write additional custom integration code, which will speed creation and delivery of Java applications, officials said. The connector also will enable such packaged applications as customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning to quickly access back-end data sources.

Pricing Pricing for the connector will start at $4,500.
