VMware revealed Feb. 8 that it is delving deeper into the data-center services business to build new hybrid cloud deployments with its vCloud infrastructure.

The world’s largest virtualization software provider is now partnering with three new cloud services integrators: BlueLock (based in the United States), Colt Technology Services (based in Europe) and Verizon Communications (global).

VMware already is working with Terremark (U.S.) and SingTel (Singapore) to use its vCloud Datacenter platform for cloud structures.

To help facilitate this scale-out adoption, VMware has released a new piece of middleware called vCloud Connector, a free plug-in that enables vSphere administrators to deploy and manage any number of virtual machines across vCloud services from within the VMware vSphere Client.

vCloud Connector gives vSphere administrators a single place to control vSphere infrastructure and VMware vCloud-powered public and private clouds, VMware said. Users simply enter their cloud credentials and can start viewing and transferring VMs, vApps and templates among the three.

vCloud Connector is available now via the VMware Web site.

VMware vCloud Datacenter Services are available now through BlueLock, pan-European service provider Colt, Terremark and SingTel. Verizon’s services are currently in beta.
