Egenera and SWsoft are partnering to bring greater virtualization capabilities to Egeneras BladeFrame server environment.

Egenera this week will become a member of SWsofts Strategic Technology Partner program, while SWsoft will join the Egenera Accelerate alliance program.

Egenera sells high-end stateless blade servers and virtualization software for building utility computing environments. SWsofts Virtuozzo software dynamically partitions servers into multiple virtual machines.

Egenera officials said that while the companys technology helps virtualize data center resources, the company relies on partners to virtualize the processors and servers themselves. The company also supports VMware and Microsofts Virtual Server. The SWsoft partnership will offer greater choice, the officials said.
