Apple has made it easier to get an unlocked, SIM-free iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus by selling the phones without SIM cards for the first time.
Until now buyers would have to buy a phone through T-Mobile and then replace the included SIM Card with a card from the mobile carrier of their choice.
By buying SIM-free iPhones directly from Apple, buyers no longer will have to go through extra activation steps to move devices from T-Mobile to other carriers.
Morgan Stanley admitted on on Jan. 5 that it was the victim of an insider data breach. Though data on 350,000 clients was stolen, only a small subset of that number was publicly posted to the Internet.
According to Morgan Stanley, a limited amount of information was stolen and doesn’t include Social Security numbers or account passwords. Morgan Stanley fired the employee responsible for the theft but did not publicly identify that individual.
Intel Security is previewing its True Key platform as an entry for the password security challenge at the 2105 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.
Rather than just using a simple password that the user inputs for each specific Website, True Key uses a unique customer attribute to authenticate access.
That unique attribute could include what Intel Security refers to as “facial math,” which, for example, could determine the distance between the user’s eyes and nose.
Among the new devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows operating system and Intel’s newest processors making their debut at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show is Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon notebook.
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon weighs less than 2.9 pounds and features fifth-generation Intel Core processors. Also making its debut is the new Acer Aspire R 13, which is a convertible notebook with a dual-hinge design called Ezel Aero and the new HP Pavilion Mini and Stream Mini Windows 8.1 desktops.
