If you are a network administrator worried about managing your fellow employees’ iPhones, fear not–the Center for Internet Security has some security advice for you.

The nonprofit just released a benchmark for Apple iPhone security. The document offers more than 20 recommendations and instructions dealing with iPhone OS settings, secure data destruction, settings for Safari and more. The full benchmark is available on the CIS Website, though registration is required (it’s free).

“The adoption of the iPhone within the enterprise presents security challenges that we believe the CIS benchmark assists in addressing,” said Blake Frantz, CTO for CIS, in a statement. “The benchmark walks you through more than 20 step-by-step recommendations for system settings, Safari settings and iPhone Configuration Utility settings that address critical issues such as reducing the remote attack surface of the phone, securely erasing data and requiring strong passwords.”

The benchmarks are aimed at securing iPhone OS version 2.2.1, and leveraging the iPhone Configuration Utility (ICU) version 1.1.043.
