EVault, trying to lure some new enterprise customers in the Microsoft cloud, announced Nov. 7 that Windows Azure users who sign a new enterprise contract will receive one year of free EVault Endpoint Protection.

EVault, owned by Seagate, is a highly regarded, cloud-connected backup, recovery and data security solution for endpoint devices.

EVault’s offer is available to Microsoft Enterprise and Partner Group customers signing a new Windows Azure enterprise agreement with an annual commitment of $50,000 or more. The offer is valid through June 30, 2014.

The global promotion includes free unlimited device licensing, unlimited licensing for optional network caches, vault setup and 24/7 support from EVault’s team of data protection experts.

EVault has been supporting cloud-connected backup and recovery services on Windows Azure since October 2010, the company said.

The news is timely because Azure recently announced that it is adding backup and recovery services to its public cloud.

EVault provides onsite, cloud, and cloud-connected or hybrid data protection solutions to help organizations protect and access their business data.

The company has been a pioneer in the move to hybrid storage models, with its own integrated ecosystem of EVault storage software, SaaS, managed services and appliances for multiplatform, multisite environments.

The platform combines cloud-based developer capabilities with storage, computational and networking infrastructure services, all hosted on Microsoft’s servers.
