The Predictive Model Markup Language ultimately will provide applications with a method of defining statistical and data-mining models and the ability to share them with other PMML-compliant applications, but vendors like IBM and SAS say theyll have to deviate from the standard until at least Version 3.0. In the meantime, the companies have developed PMML extensions designed to help SAS Enterprise Miner interoperate more effectively with IBMs Intelligent Miner and DB2 database.
