Midmarket ERP software developer Adonix announced Thursday that it has acquired Computer Integrated Manufacturing for Process, or CIMPRO, a subsidiary of MAI Systems Corp.

CIMPRO, of Tarrytown, N.Y., provides software designed to address the needs of the process industry. Its application modules share information across an enterprise.

Adonix will assume all CIMPRO employees, net assets, technology, and contractual rights to all 250 customers and business partners, officials said.

The Pittsburgh-based company plans to combine its X3 enterprise resource planning software with CIMPRO V to bring a new offering to the legacy replacement market. The combined software will be tailored for specific process industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage sectors.

Adonix X3 is an ERP solution that integrates customer relationship management, manufacturing, distribution and finance functionality.

The purchase of CIMPRO puts Adonix on a bit of a spending spree. The company purchased Groupe ABEL in September—the most recent acquisition in a series of purchases that began seven years ago, according to officials. Adonix has acquired four additional software vendors in that time period.
