At the SAP Tech Ed conference in Bremen, Germany, Tuesday, BMC Software Inc. announced new Control-M batch scheduling functionalities for SAP AGs software.
The Control-M for SAP software provides automation and integration of business processes–both within and outside the SAP environment–and handles SAP jobs and data archiving processes like regular batch jobs.
Control-M also integrates existing Control-M managed systems and independent job scheduling with background processing of SAP applications, officials said.
The new functionalities are expected to provide increased automation that will allow administrators to manage and monitor mass parallel jobs. At the same time, a new prioritizing mechanism will allow administrators to control and predefine ad-hoc jobs to help eliminate uncontrolled workloads.
BMC Software previously joined forces with SAP in an effort to redefine and establish new batch scheduling standards–XPB2.0–for SAP solutions. That work led to the development of new Control-M capabilities, BMC officials said.
Both companies will look to provide an enhanced XBP interface that will provide users with the ability to manage and monitor batch processes in their SAP environment.
