Cognos Inc. announced Monday the release of the latest version of its Metrics Manager enterprise scorecarding product, featuring improvements in usability, analysis and metrics management.
Cognos Metrics Manager Version 2 features personalized views of key metrics for each user plus real-time monitoring, alerting and event detection capabilities through e-mail and mobile devices.
Assessment capabilities have been enhanced in this release so that users can view a metric, understand the underlying performance measures impacting that metric, and be guided toward supporting data and reports for additional visibility into performance issues or patterns, Cognos officials in Ottawa, Ontario said.
In addition, Cognos Metrics Manager Version 2 fully supports Cognos Enterprise BI Series 7 Version 2 for business intelligence integration.
The software can support tens of thousands of scorecards and hundreds of thousands of individual metrics as well as applications servers like IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic and SunOne for a view of the entire business, officials said.
There are more than 650 pre-defined metrics built into the Cognos analytic applications and the company has extended scorecarding to its Cognos Enterprise Planning Series, including the capability to automatically generate scorecards with seed metrics and target values, officials said.
Cognos Metrics Manager version 2 will be available in mid-August. Pricing is $650 per seat with volume discounts available.
